Why doesn't Star Trek TNG Cause and Effect continue on next episode?

The answer is easiest as, "the problem was solved, no further story here." they did continue to use the Bozeman, whose name showed up several times, and they, i believe, finally showed her in the Cube encounter in the movie First Contact.
