TV history trivia question?

After Star trek The Next Generation final episode, it was announced that it broke the record held by MASH for highest rated TV series of all time.I believe this means that on average more people watched each episodes first airing than any other TV series in TV history. Does anyone know if Star Trek TNG still holds that record and if not, who does?
